Notice that the faculty have approved two changes for winter-term: |
• You only register for two
courses during the first week of WebReg. Prioritize your courses! If
one of your top two has a laboratory, register for the lecture
second and the lab will be added automatically. |
• Course times will no longer be
displayed using the alphabetic abbreviations. All you will see if
actual starting and ending times. See new course times at |

| WebAdvisor My Profile | Check your adviser, your graduation class and your major. If you haven't declared your major, you may not be able to gain entrance into important majors-only courses. If you are in doubt about your own class standing or major declaration(s), please check with the University Registrar's Office prior to October 26 for the Winter 2010 Web Registration. | |
| Clear any holds | Clear any holds you may have (you'll also see them noted on the PreRegistration screen). | |
| Schedule appointments | Meet with your advisers and pick up your WebReg password. Discuss course choices and some alternatives, including p.e. skills courses. |
| Usernames Passwords |
Username: use your new Outlook username (e.g. smithr12) PreRegistration password: Send it to your W&L e-mail address each term by starting here. WebRegistration password available only from your declared adviser(s). Create a "WebReg password" entry in your cell phone or e-mail addressbook and put it there so you won't have to keep the paper reminder. |
| PreRegistration | must be completed by Thursday, October 29 to avoid penalty and last WebRegistration times for the next three terms. |
| Starting time | Available upon login to WebRegistration here or to your W&L e-mail on Monday, November 2. |
| Limits & Course Counts | Departments determine the number of spots available in each course. The course counts page displays how many spots are available and how many students have been registered or waitlisted in each. Black numbers show what's open; Red numbers show categories that are closed. |
| Open courses | See the Limits and Counts page at http://olr.wlu.edu/cgi-bin/reg/list.pl |
| Permission for a closed course | WebRegister for your courses BEFORE seeking permission. Courses closed or requiring permission (including all PE skills) result in your being placed on a wait list. Faculty grant permission online. Though they get lists of students waiting for permission, you should contact the faculty to "make your case" for getting into the course. |
| Permission for overload | Granted by a dean (Dobin, Ikeda, Knapp, Peppers, Straughan, Leonard) prior to being able to register for the overload. You are limited to the regular load (max 14 credits for fall and winter) and four wait lists during WebRegistration unless you have special permission. Remember, all degree-seeking students must carry at least 12 credits during the term. |
| WebReg strategy | Be sure you understand how the WegReg screen works for ordering choices and especially for selecting the first two choices. |
| PE registration | Pick three choices. Check PE scheduling stats from previous terms to know which courses don't close. |

•Remember, in priority order so putting two courses on one line will always result in your being registered for only one of them! Be careful!
Practice registration here.

Waitlisted? Register for alternative courses.
If you are waiting for permission or for a wait list to open up, you should enter a second-choice course on the same line. If that course is also closed, you should enter an open, no-permission-required course in the "I'm registered" column of the same line as a third-choice course. Get registered (right-hand column) for something of the WebRegistration screen.
