Why Do I Have to See My Adviser?

It's not just for a signature.  Schedule an appointment early and count on at least a 15-minute conversation.

WebRegistration is designed, in part, to improve advising discussions. Time with advisers is intended to be more useful to students and faculty in terms of sharing information, developing a deeper academic relationship, and cooperating toward the end of better information being exchanged.

Don't wait until the last minute! You should not expect to show up at your adviser's office at your convenience just to receive your WebRegistration password.  Remember, your adviser has other responsibilities and is not in the office all day and night just waiting for you.  Schedule your appointment well in advance and be prepared to discuss your academic goals and proposed courses.  Advisers have been told that they may withhold the password until they are satisfied with the content of your conversation.

If you lose your password, you will need to go back to your adviser to get a replacement. The University Registrar's Office can't provide it.

If your adviser is on sabbatical or with a W&L course abroad, you should contact the department head or acting department head in the same department for advising and passwords.
