§ WebRegistration Strategy
Since you are limited to only two lines
in the first week, it is important to understand how the WebReg windows work
so you can make the most of those two lines. In the second week, you will be
able use your same password to enter the rest of your course choices with
your window opening at the same time, on the same day of the week.
Remember that there are more
explanations behind each of the question mark
symbols
and that your 100- and 200-level PE skills selections don't count against
your two choices and are still handled in the box at the bottom of the screen.
Most importantly: enter your
first two courses simultaneously rather than one at a time.
For example, select both disciplines before you click "Go To The Next Step":

Then, select both course numbers before clicking "Go To The Next Step" the second time.
This is especially important if one or both of your first two courses has a corequisite, like a lab, as do both of the example courses above. Here is the result.
Notice that the primary course info is reflected in the first two lines and the corequisites for each appear in the third and fourth line, though you couldn't enter something there directly. You may, however, drop the courses in lines 3 and 4 if you change your mind.
Remember that you will only get one course on each line. If you select a course that either requires permission (noted with a (P) or is already closed and keeping a wait list (W), you will want to select a second-choice course on the appropriate line.
Note in the following example that BIOL 111B requires permission, as does the corequisite BIOL 113, and that ENGL 105D is closed to this student, so the waiting list is active. All three PE choices are waitlisted as usual until after WebRegistration ends are scheduling is run and the total possible credits is 7 though actual credits ("I'm Registered for This") is still zero.
While contacting the faculty to discuss getting into these courses, the student adds some alternatives; GEOL 101 results in waitlisting but LACS 256 is open and slides to the "I'm Registered " column. The total possible credits is now at 8 - 4 on line 1, 3 on line 2, 1 on line 3.
You still need to get registered into a course on line 1. Use the "I'm Registered" column as a "third choice on this line". The restrictions are that a course you put here must be open (you aren't placed on a wait list) and must not require permission. The student still has 8 possible credits but is actually registered for 6 credits.
Try out your strategy first using one of the test logins: Test1 - Test2 - Test3
One last reminder about what happens when you get permission, first for the 2nd-choice GEOL 101. The placeholder "slides" to the right, replacing LIT 223, since it is the third choice on this line, resulting in the following:

Notice that BIOL and ENGL are still the first choices on their respective lines. So if the student is "clicked in" by the ENGL faculty, it "slides" to the right, knocking out any other courses (since it is still designated as the first choice on that line) and resulting in the following:
